Implement a workaround to dismiss unresponsive popups and menus

The Android framework presents an issue (#617060) that not only prevents users from accessing some pop-ups and menus but also may potentially lock them out of the phone, therefore, a workaround is required that allows users to dismiss these unresponsive interfaces and continue using the handset. This may involve a combination of long-press and/or consecutive presses on the main action switch.
