Currently, desktop backgrounds / wallpapers in Cinnamon ignore subfolders and symlinks.

In the other issue I suggested to add an option to include pictures in subfolders.
In this issue I suggest to add an option to include symbolic links to pictures in other locations.

If both options are enabled, also symlinks to other folders would be considered.
