Bug Description

As remaining item from https://blueprints.launchpad.net/linaro-ci/+spec/switch-ci-to-use-custom-ami blueprint, we should prepare a custom AMI for cbuild service use by the Toolchain team. We know the slave init script they use, but need to collect extra info like what current AMI(s) they use now. Ideally, we'd also make sure that Toolchain team can use linaro-ami tool themselves to update custom AMIs whenever they need.

This appears to be script which contains IDs of base AMIs used by cbuild:

Using http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~linaro-toolchain-dev/cbuild/tools/view/head:/ec2slave-init.sh (see BP link above) as is doesn't work, sent mail to Michael Hope asking to look into that.

This got backlogged somewhat. Restarted communication with Toolchain group, unassigning for maintenance team to pick it up.

I was thinking the same thing - a pristine image plus the standard
build deps, then we add a little extra on top. Should cut the start
time from ~10 minutes to less than 1 and make it more reliable.

I've created the blueprint

track the work on our side.

So, as there's good understanding and BP now, this bug can be closed.
