PPA description
gcc-4.8:
Update to 4.8.5. Internal mtune flags adjusted to reflect recent CPU characteristics.
Hopefully this can produce a little bit better binary.
dpkg:
Update to 1.17.27 (the version in Debian 8, even higher versions like 1.18+ require a lot of other dependencies).
With following changes:
* Use better default xz compression parameters:
--lzma2=preset=9e,dict=128MB,nice=273
* Set uniform compression to default and backport --no-uniform-compression.
This makes default control compression type to xz.
* Also build dpkg.deb from this source without uniform compression to use
control.tar.gz for backward compatibility.
* Disable stack protector and fortify by default in dpkg-buildflags.
* Backport and disable fixfilepath and fixdebugpath in dpkg-buildflags.
devscripts:
To match the version in Debian 8.
debhelper:
Update to >=20151004 for this reason:
* dh_makeshlibs: Use a noawait trigger to invoke ldconfig rather maintscripts.
dh-exec:
0.14 supports filtering by arch.
0.16 supports relative path.
