Virtualization backports for Precise
PPA description
Backports from Saucy to Precise, for QEMU/KVM netcf/spice/usbredir support.
Because packages have been consolidated and removed in these more recent packages, installing from this repository will work best with a clean Precise install. If you want to write instructions for migrating from existing precise versions, drop me a line and I'll add them to the description here, otherwise I may get around to that at some stage.
This WFM, YMMV, use at your own risk!
If you're looking for any additional packages, drop me a line and I'll be happy to add them.
UPDATE 2013-11-07: Currently in the process of rebuilding from Saucy, with usb-redir properly enabled.
UPDATE 2013-11-10: Backports from Saucy are complete, and usb-redir should now work as expected.
CAVEATS: If you see the error: "failed to get number of host interfaces" in your libvirt logs, install the `netcf` package, then run `ncftool -d list` to see why it's failing. It will most likely be modprobe.d files with poor syntax (multi-line commands, for example). Modify those files until `ncftool -d list` reports your interfaces correctly, then restart libvirt-bin.
Adding this PPA to your system
You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:pdffs/precise-virt to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pdffs/precise-virt
sudo apt update
