GNOME with Open Sound System

PPA description

GNOME packages with OSS support enabled and ALSA/PulseAudio support disabled (as needed).

First, do a
sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad
Then add the ppa and upgrade packages.

Afterwards, you might want to
sudo apt-get purge pulseaudio

Relogin (or reboot) and GNOME sounds should be back. Right click on the panel and add the volume control applet, if required.

Adding this PPA to your system

You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:holindho/gnome-opensound to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:holindho/gnome-opensound
sudo apt update
