PPA description
This is a backup and merge of packages from: no1wantdthisname/ppa, strukturag/libde265, djcj/vapoursynth, mc3man/mpv-tests, makson96/trusty-backport (no longer), nilarimogard/webupd8.
Main reason for creating this is https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/commit/f59371de2170141fc28540d03c4e7ecc62844ebf
Some notes:
-libde265 and it's Gstreamer plugin is required if you want to use Totem with HEVC videos, for example. Mpv doesn't need it.
-as far as I checked, installing Libva 12 won't break software dependencies.
[later edit: it does, packages removed.
audacity wasn't working] After trying ppa:mc3man/testing6, Rhythmbox reported that 'gstreamer is broken'. Probably some more shit is broken with that ppa too.
-MPV magically works. I even expected the 0.25 version to not run, because libass' minimum required version for it is 0.13.6.
-the Infinality patch makes fonts look the proper way with full anti-aliasing and hinting.
Don't expect updates.
Most aren't even probably needed.
There are still two years of support left for Ubuntu 14, so I expect some future vanilla updates shall come both for Libva and Gstreamer.
Last time I checked, vaapi (Ivy Bridge) with opengl worked fine. Anime worked fine also.
