Currently, there are only packages for Trusty Tahr (14.04 LTS) and Xenial Xerus (16.04 LTS). Python 3 support is only complete in Xenial.
Note that later versions of Iris and CIS are unlikely to be backported to Trusty, as they require backporting newer versions of a lot of other packages.
Note also that the the newer Iris version packaged for Xenial no longer includes the GRIB interface, so GRIB support in Iris and CIS is not currently available. This will follow once the new seprate iris_grib library is packaged.
Adding this PPA to your system
You can update your system with unsupported packages from this untrusted PPA by adding ppa:cis/stable to your system's Software Sources. (Read about installing)

sudo apt update
