RSS Variable extensions on Windows Client

As I know it is possible to use all variable extensions on the rss ticker with the linux client, with windows it's only the standard ones. Would it be possible to make that feature also available for the windows client? So i can you use all custom extensions to format the ticker. That would be very helpful because the ticker on our xibo screens is a very important part and the format is not really optimal now.

As pointed out in the linked bug, it would also be useful to run some basic operations on the content of a feed - such as removing HTML mark-up, images - changing ordering of the items, etc.
