Dot Net Clients
With Microsoft open sourcing .Net framework, it may be perhaps better to use that to build a cross platform client for Linux and Windows using Visual since it is more polished than Mono and it really is a better option than using a python client for Linux. I haven't investigated this more but apparently you can also continue development for Android based applications too.
Whiteboard
Need to consider the following options for a cross platform client (these are just some items that can prove difficult)
- Cross Platform
- Easy Installation
- Support for Transitions
- Shell Commands
- Watch Dog
- Modules (video, images, flash, html based, powerpoint, counter)
- Lift Device (serial events)
- Full Screen and Windowed
- Auto start
- SOAP support
- Auto update
- Storage library (caching files)
Xarc 1:
>With Microsoft Open Source .Net then the Cross Platform should be easy to develop, for Linux and Android.
>You can use a repo to install for Linux (researching for installer)
>Shell Commands: PowerShell is there
>Watch Dog: Not sure what you mean
>Modules: Supported for images, video and html/css/javascript not sure about the others, never tried them.
>Lift Device: Not sure what you mean by this, you mean to tag each device?
>Full Screen: Supported
>Autostart: Why I propose this
>SOAP Support: http://
>Auto update, can be set, as well can be done through repo
>Storage Library, possible, use this already on Windows computers.
