Database Changes Management

Changing the database scheme currently causes manual changes to be made at the productive database. This is very painful and may hinder developers to do worthwhile database-refactoring. We should therefore find a solution for this.

LiquidBase [1] seems to be a very promising candidate for handling this problem. There is also a maven-plugin availabe.

The new eXist-based implementation does not suffer from this problem. Changing the database schema is easily possible using XSL-transformations.
