Re-factoring of VM customize options to improve performance and useability

Propose breaking up VM's custom variable definitions into smaller task and/or feature specific sub-groups. This will make the page load faster and will make finding and identifying relevant options easier. Also propose refining some custom variable definitions and adding links to the info manual
