Vesuvius Embeddable Widget

The vesuvius widget will be a small iframe widget which can be used by other websites. This widget will be a user-oriented version of the main vesuvius. This small widget can search for missing people and even report the missing people.

The vesuvius widget will be able to help the independent websites to use features of vesuvius from inside their websites. Users will not need to go to open up the vesuvius page itself to use vesuvius. People who do not know about vesuvius can find it on their favorite pages (if they use it), and use all the vesuvius features right from there.

Sahana can publish the vesuvius widget so that all other websites can run a copy of vesuvius. All the willing website which would want to help in case of some disaster or some other emergencies, will be able give a small space on their website for the vesuvius where the widget can operate. Sahana can even advertise on some popular websites by giving out the widget as the ad.

A very similar technology is developed and maintained by google called the “google person finder”.
