My thoughts on this are that there should be an attribute added to applets, which specifies what category it belongs to - by default, this would be "Uncategorised". Then the manager can split them up into categories - I think the UI should look like the Gnome Control Center categories. -- Peter Ward (flowblok)

I've done some research on the UI (take a look at compizconfig-settings-manager for a Python implementation of the interface), but because of new-user-interface, this feature should wait until 0.1.5. -- Peter Ward (flowblok)
