Users should get any update of a programm version, icluding major updates. For example updating from Open Office 3.1 to Open Office 3.2

What about making Ubuntu to a „rolling release distribution“???
I think that one of the few problems Linux, also Ubuntu has is, that users don't get major updates. For a normal user it is unreproducible, that he don't get the new Version of Firefox or Open Office. If he want to get this new version, he has to add a repository. This is to circuitous , specially for unexperienced users. And Ubuntu is made for them, or not??

I want that users will get always the new version of any program. I don't want to wait until the next release.

Which pros and contras are there for this idea???

thx
