Update-Manager continues install/upgrade when user input is required

Registered by Brent Newland

A critical update to me would be having update-manager continue with the update or installation when user input is required. Most often this is due to some settings that need confirmed, or differences between config files. Every time it pauses for user input, it stops the entire process, possibly delaying an install/upgrade by many hours. I'm sure this can be easily solved by having it mark the package that needs user input for further processing at the end and continuing the install/upgrade.

Whiteboard

How might this relate to the issues here? https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopTeam/Specs/PackageKit --Brian C

While PackageKit seems like an interesting concept, it would only be related if it would install updates while saving the user prompts for last. As described, I don't see any current feature like that in PackageKit, so other programs would still need to be modified. --Brent Newland
