Unified Automatic System Monitoring

A generic framework to gather and record automatically any kind system information (like the info given by 'top') for long periods of time, up to years. This information will be useful for system administrator, and even users. (For instance, it will easily allow gnome-system-monitor to display resource usage graphs from before opening the window.)
