if we set up pad.ubuntu.com then there would be a much better history of changes, no random deletions and a server that stays up given enough ram

Gobby 0.4 was accessible, however the new Gobby 0.5 is not, therefore the last big reason to keep Gobby is no longer a valid concern. It should be possible to improve the accessibility of Etherpad and as it is an open source web application we could set up an http://
