Distributing Content via Software Centre
With the rise of the App Store model, I believe we should be encouraging content creators to make their content available (both in terms of license and accessibility) - but we don't want our users to trawling around that dangerous wild web out there to find their content - so why not make it easily accessible via the software centre? Consider that Android Market has recently been renamed to Google Play Store, including books movies and music.... Why should google have all the fun?
I've been working on packaging audio content, and I still have a few bugs to iron out, but what about adding some options to programs like Audacity or Libre office offering the ability to package for PPA.
I know that many of the techies that peruse this site may well be questioning the reason for this blueprint, but packaging content for Ubuntu is something I feel strongly about, and I think that there are multiple benefits for this.
