Ubuntu mobile Lite
I was thinking about making a Ubuntu for moile phones or even things like the PSP and Palm OS. The main ideas at the moment is a Ubuntu based graphical interface with less options. A scaled down version of the Open office suite and perhaps some other ideas, like possible connectivity with other Ubuntu computers especially for the Palm os. I think that is might be an idea to have 3 versions-Ubuntu Mobile Lite for less capable mobiles, Ubuntu Palm for a palm os, Ubuntu Touch Lite this would be a special version for touch sceen computers.
I am adding this to a new project Ubuntu touch. I have added the project to www.launchpad.

Whiteboard
The PSP and Palm devices are not the x86/ACPI platform. They would each require as much work as Ubuntu PPC -- and Ubuntu PPC was dropped (it became "community supported") when new Macs became Intel-based.
I think that adding touch screen support to Ubuntu and Xubuntu should happen ASAP. This would involve drivers for the different types of touch screen controllers. It would also need to make an input system for GDM or the XFce equivalent. A good on-screen thumb (and/or pen) keyboard would would be a good start.
