UNIFY: Gnome / KDE / XFCE Themes

Registered by Niel Drummond

Collecting a possible listing of potential targets for release during a given cycle.

These targets should be elements of art that can be easily modified / changed / adapted to fit within the new release's style.

Emphasis here should be on cohesion between the themes.

----

Make sure that the default themes that exist for the different distros
are somewhat universal

For instance, Kubuntu could have a blue theme. It should preferably look
as much like the Ubuntu default theme as possible, barring the color
set. Then we should include that blue theme not just in Kubuntu, but
also in Ubuntu. And the other way around, of course, there should be an
orange theme for Kubuntu.

This way, we can retain consistency between the different types of
Ubuntu and also adhere to the thought of making several color styles for
the default theme.

----

The only problem could be that if you make the various flavors uniform across the board you deprive them to develop their own identities. You may end up like in fedora where the kde destop was gnome-ized so much that the kde look and feel completely lost. This may create a cross platform boredom.

Whiteboard

Based on sabdfl's thoughts on this subject we can not really implement this specification. We will try to address certain aspects of cohesiveness in the future.
