add truecrypt to the repository

Registered by llivne

for those of you who dont know it
truecrypt (www.truecrypt.org) is a very strong encryption program that is also simple to use
it is open source and active and i believe unlike kpgp and alikes it is designed for the protection on your own pc and not for transmission along the web - what it does it that you make a file that only useing truecrypt and the right key and/or encryption file (you can use a different file as the password) makes a virtual partition on your pc that the second you close truecrypt it retuns to be the same file fulled of what appers to be as random data
i use this program myself for its very strong encryption and ease of use and believe it is perfect for being on the repository

Whiteboard

harrisony: this program has been requested to be in the repository [1] but has many licensing issues [2] [3]
[1] https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/109701 [2] http://lists.debian.org/debian-legal/2006/06/msg00294.html [3] http://lists.debian.org/debian-legal/2006/07/msg00008.html

llivne: i read the license and as far i can see (correct me if im wrong) what it says that you can download and use it for free and that you can distribute it provided you give them credit (which is understandable) and that you can modify it as long as you dont use there name or logo (still understandable) and that you state that it was based on truecrypt (still understood) so what is really the problem here?

martinr: recently (2010) the license has been reworked again and is now at v3. So I second llivne: what is really the problem here? ++
