With touchscreen computers showing up more and more (dell inspiron touchscreen and other laptops), it seems that unity is in the right direction. To take full advantage of this interface and remain consistent, a good integration of the touchscreen ability is required.
At the moment it takes a lot of fiddling and there's no guarantee of success.
