TOSHIBA TEC B-SX4 Printer Support
Case:
The company I work for uses TOSHIBA TEC B-SX4 printers for printing tray labels. We cannot migrate to Ubuntu because Ubuntu doesn't have have drivers for this device. We are a mailing company and are heavily dependent on these printers for all our jobs. Buying a new printer would cost more than a windows license so changing the printer is not an option. Also, many UK mailing houses use this printer because it produces Royal Mail standard tray labels.
Proposition
Add support for TOSHIBA TEC B-SX4 printers to Ubuntu.
More information about these printers can be found at http://

Whiteboard
The following driver is prepared for Ubuntu systems and works pretty well with TEC B-SX4 label printers:
http://
It supports a range of TPCL based printers and includes support for TOPIX Compression. It does however require compilation before installation, a .deb package would be nice (at some point I'd like to try and create one.)
