"TIme Machine" to reverse mistakes in the configuration

Registered by Andrea Corbellini

A lot of new users ask why Ubuntu doesn't have a "time machine" to reverse their mistakes made during the configuration. For example, if I edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf and I write "Screenn" instead of "Screen" X Window will not start. If I'm able with vim or nano I can simply revert the mistake, but new users cannot do this without problems.
