Add support for Exchange Server to Thunderbird
Most small medium and large companies already have exchange based email systems on their networks. In order for office workers to be able to do their job they need to have a suitable email client. If Thunderbird is going to be made the default mail client then it should support Exchange out of the box.
Use Case Example 1:
John works in a medium sized company. The company, like many others uses Exchange Server to handle email. He plugs his Ubuntu laptop into the network but cannot access his email using his default Email program. He can install Evolution, but then he will need to use two different email programs.
Use case Example 2
Tim wants to save money by rolling out Ubuntu on some workstations in the company he works for. The company already has a Windows server with Exchange on it. Tim likes Open Office and the security Ubuntu brings on the workstations, but the exchange support on Ubuntu isn't as good as it was in Windows.
