linker a synpatic like program that links to external deb packages from sites like sourceforge and or a developers homepage.
The result to achieve would be to have linker link to deb packages in the community or personal web sites similar to Mudmagic that has a deb package for ubuntu or numerous packages in sourceforge. Linker will take care of any extra repository addressing. Also a way may be possible to install debs from homepages etc. Lastly Linker is a stop gap offering bleeding edge versions of software before they becoem mainstream or backported as an added bonus it would allow for a listing of Debian or Next Ubuntu packages that work in the current Ubuntu. The only drawback I see is dependency problems but these problems would be the same if you whent to the web homepage website to download the deb package. Basicly it draws bleeding edge closer to the user.
