Share Folder to store Documents to be seen by other users

Registered by RMS-mit

A Shared Documents directory could be created under /home for users to put documents they want to viewable by other users on the system. I would suggest the following set:-

/home/Share/Documents
/home/Share/Pictures
/home/Share/Videos
/home/Share/Music
/home/Share/Network <= files visible through samba share using normal user account authentication

These directories should have permissions such that any member of group 'users' could create files or subdirectories and that those files/directories create are owned by the user who created them and have the group assignment of 'users' such that other users can read the contents of the files/directories. (eg of permisionsions for directories above would be rwx rws rwt with ownership of sys and group users)

If write access by other users is wanted user could change permission on that file or directory.

A shortcut should be available in each users home directory to the Share folder and new users should be created with member ship of the group 'users' by default.

I seam to have some recollection of a Share documents in ubuntu but I don't know if this was the same thing and it is definitely not available in kubuntu.

Dolphin should have a direct link in the 'places' tab.

This is a simple change and I would optimistically like to see it in Karmic?
