Ubuntu cloud images enhancements
Now that we have official, stable and robust images for EC2 and UEC, we can start adding features to make them more useful and attractive:
* Create new AMIs by rebundling our official AMIs
* Customize images at boot time (e.g. installing and configuring applications) and later "upgrade" them by just pointing to a new image
* Build a new image from scratch using packages using vm-builder
* Automatically install updates at boot time
This session will explore those ideas, and others we could implement in lucid to further enhance our cloud images.
This is complementary to blueprints about specific cloud image enhancements (hookable boot, config-based customization via userdata)
