profile machine of faster boot

Registered by Olafur Arason

With the demonstration by Intel of the fast booting, it is evident that the current system of supporting everything on a single machine does not work. What I'm proposing is to identify machines that can't easily modified, like laptops, netbooks, mobile devices, and have do a profile of the machines usage of modules and built in modules and build a tailored kernel image for that machine, either onsite or through lauchpads ppa ( which could be reused by other machines with the same profile ). Buildin in every needed module, skiping unneeded ones and having no initrd. This would of course be optional and most likely command line at first. This could be extended to using tailored file systems, like axfs, and striped hibernation images that could be used to boot by default.
