No Google as Browser Default Start Page
Google is the most popular search engine in the world. In recent years it has come to light that Google does not share the concerns of the open source community because they have been complicit in government censorship and spying in different countries around the world. They retain more user data than all of the other search engines combined, and they openly admit to keeping the data around for 18 months for purposes of complying with legal requirements. This kind of behavior sounds reasonable in theory, but it becomes a tool of oppression when the government that is asking Google to hand over user data is not a free or democratic country. Ubuntu should not collaborate with a company who abuses their power as much as Google. Please use alternatives (Yahoo is no better than Google, but Ask.com will be launching search without data retention soon) to Google for the default start page in all Ubuntu web browsers.
