Registered by Colin Watson

Review the worst problems and discuss how to fix them (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bugs?field.milestone%3Alist=338):
 * #61089 NM should notice changes to /etc/network/interfaces automatically
 * #77299 Password dialog appears on the wrong desktop when multiple users are logged on
 * #83143 does not automatically start the wired connection due to missing link beat
 * #90267 network-manager stops and restarts already ifup'ed interfaces
 * #95968 n-m brings down slave interfaces like eth0:10 (special case of previous bug)

Whiteboard

Please fix the hidden SSID bug!! I live on Georgia Tech's campus with a hidden SSID and a WEP key and it is very annoying -- I have to type in the SSID and WEP key *every* time I want to connect to the network. NetworkManager will not automatically connect to hidden networks, even though the information for them is added in the GNOME configuration (visible under gconf-editor). See: https://bugs.launchpad.net/network-manager/+bug/39707

It would be good to add an option to change the default mtu somewhere, as my isp uses a custom mtu setting. Thanks

asac: gutsy is released ... most annoying bugs should be fixed by now (including hidden SSID). Only bug not fixed in this spec summary is "#77299 "Password dialog appears on the wrong desktop when multiple users are logged on".
