I think this is good option to include Multimedia codecs in dvd or in Addon cd.of ubuntu.Like
Opensuser does this solves frustration for non internet(offline) users,who dont connect to internet easily utilize all the capabilities of ubuntu out of box experience,also if some extra applications like mythtv,google desktop,
