Ubuntu Mobile and Embedded - Window Manager

The mobile user interface requires a window manager component designed for the form factor (small display, touch screen, etc.). Matchbox is a natural choice, though it's not clear whether all of the components needed are available and up-to-date in Ubuntu. The maemo repository seems to contain a modified matchbox.
