Install Root filesystems to NAND devices (probably using ubifs filesystems)

Registered by Oliver Grawert on 2010-04-13

Today debian-installer or ubiquity can not install a root filesystem to NAND devices. In the ARM ecosystem this is often required since NAND is the naturally shipped disk device on many ARM platforms. In case there is a big enough NAND device the installer should offer installation to such a target and properly create a suited filesystem for it (ubifs)
