For the UME, it was decided that:
* As the system is task-oriented, it should have a list of tasks and, from that, derive the applications.
* The UME core should perform very well this list of tasks and everything else will be added to this core as needed.
* This task list is:
* Web browsing
* Communication (chat and email)
* Consume, produce and share media.
* The applications performing these tasks shall be integrated meaning they are aware of each other and will use a single data repository (probably Evolution Data Server).
* All the environment (UI and applications) shall follow the same set of design rules to provide to the user a consistent view of the UME as a product.
