Better integration in Microsoft-centric shops

Registered by Peter Popov

It would be good to see Ubuntu better integrate in a Microsoft-centric shop. Some items would include:
* Authentication against AD (covered by network-authentication)
* Easier browsing, mounting and sharing using Samba and CIFS (partially covered by samba-config-gui, samba-smbpasswd and others)
* Working NTLM authentication with v2 support and v1 fallback. It's currently not working in Kubuntu at all - KMail, KAddressBook, KHTML etc.
* Working Exchange (5.5, 2000, 2003) calendar integration. This includes: being able to browse shared calendars and share one's own; sending invitations that work in Outlook; replying to Outlook invitations and having the fact reflected in the inviter's calendar; setting free/busy status visible to others; and others.
* Honoring the memberOf and member LDAP attributes in AD when used in address books (explore groups for members, or check membership of a user); mail filters (catch on mail sent to (a) certain group(s)); reading and sending mail. UI hints reflecting objectClass=user vs objectClass=group
