Lock screen shouldn't be black

Registered by FrantiĊĦek Zatloukal

I think it'll be better to have something on lock screen - for example calendar, weather, clock, etc.
This blueprint is targeted to Ubuntu 12.10 (if it will be accepted of course).

Whiteboard

GNOME Screensaver (when used under a non-Unity session) displays a bar with the name of the user. I think this bar could be used to add indicators like WiFi and clock. Upstream is taking a Windows 8-approach (see http://youtu.be/nQ9ZfpXcPt0). See also bug 878836: John Lea from the design team is considering to use Unity Greeter as the locking screen (an approach that I personally don't like). --Fitoschido, 20120410
