Location aware firewall

Registered by Matej Kovacic

Windows 7 has very interesting feature in their network manager - when you log into new network, you can set whether this network is private or public. If it is private, you have some set of rules (like - allow SMB sharing, etc.) and if it is public, you can use another set of rules (like: block all incoming connection).

It would be just great to have sometnihg similar in Ubuntu. However, this could be much better implemented in ufw. For instance, you can have multiple "profiles" (sets of rules), for different networks, like: at home - everything is open, in office, and university only some ports are open, in cybercaffe, everything is off.

BTW, this could be another blueprint, but it would be great to have ufw integrated with Network Manager...
