There is LaCie lightscribe software for labeling lightscribe CD/DVDs with specific CD/DVD drivers but its an old version and only in rpm format.
It should be a nice and equivalent program for this work in ubuntu. Or maybe a .deb package of same program.

I think there is 2 softwares for this. The LaCie 4l and LLS from lightscribe website. thery are close source but can be in nonfree repos!
