Apply patch if possible to fix IO wait in kernel

A new patch has been released which may fix the incredibly annoying IO wait found in the kernel, which sometimes freezes the GUI. This tends to occur when a system is short of ram or is writing to the disk.

I would like to see what people think about trying to get this applied in maverick (even if its just a backport).
