Laptop Testing program as supplement to System Testing

Registered by Kenyon Karl

I participated in Laptop Testing a few release cycles ago. see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/AsusA2500H and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/ThinkpadT40 (second half of page). It appears to me that this approach is an act of futility, particularly as I am not sure how to test some of the features of my laptop. My suggestion is that a 'sequel' to the System Testing Program be written which rigorous tests those laptop features that are accommodated by Ubuntu (and its ilk), then stores the results in a database that bug trackers can access. Like System Testing, this program should likewise offer the opportunity to generate bug reports!
