Add Java functionality to the Ubuntu operating system like Windows does.

I am a big fan of Ubuntu, but one of the big reasons I haven't transferred all my computers over is because Ubuntu has almost no Java functionality. I have used the Ubuntu package downloader to install one of the Java packages, but it is simply not working, and neither is the website download. If you could add the same functionality for Ubuntu with Java that it is for Windows, that would be great.
