To further meet enterprise users needs, Ubuntu server needs to provide a Java application server stack that could scale up to a full J2EE ("Java EE") stack. This spec evaluates the different implementation options.

dendrobates: we are looking at the possibility of including v3 of glassfish in main for intrepid. This will depend on several things, in cluding the ability to build from source from jars with appropriate F/OSS licenses.
