Integration of an easy-to-use (i.e. enduser) blind (or rather, nonvisual) user interface into the live and installer version

Most tools for vision-impaired and blind people are designed as a bridge between a graphical interface that was never designed for nonvisual use, and some kind of navigation/orientation workaround like "graphical screen readers". A better match for nonvisual interaction would be an entirely textmenu-driven system that allows to use GNU/Linux without having to search-for-and-click on a visual display, and additionally, without the need to know any commands (which a computer beginner usually has not much interest in anyways, at the first contact, he/she usually wants to just work with the system right away and start applications as needed).

Though already in an existing, still experimental but usable state, this is a rather longterm project that has just started half a year ago by the LINACCESS association http://www.linaccess.org/ and the KNOPPIX project, see http://knopper.net/knoppix-adriane/index-en.html . We definitely need some coordination of efforts between distros, and a lot more people working on this.
