In the installer GParted should have the ability to resize,move NTFS prtitions

If you switch from windows and want to install Ubuntu your hard drive has only NTFS partitions.In order to make room for a Linux partition you should have the ability to resize or move NTFS partitions.This can be done by installing ntfsprogs in the LiveCD.
