Whiteboard

maybe some kind of contest on pages like jamendo / flikr / youtube etc. - Embrace social networks? I'm sure this would attract many artists.

What are the license restrictions for the content?

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Examples. Use that page as the central "hub" for collecting submissions? or does the need to signup to edit pages limit the number of people prepared to take part?

Notes from the session:

Ditch it and start again.
 * HTML file, link to more example content
  * Maybe even a continuous competition, with a new featured artist every month
 * Flash presentation?

 * Musicians
 * Artists
 * Stories
 * Movies

Competition in each category for the best 1Mb entry.

You are going to disappoint some people with the choice of music. Also localisation
issues may become an issue.

Artist profiles.

Index page listing what is on there, and pointers to more. Also explain what the content
is there for.

Competition every 6 months, make it a well known thing, and a desirable target.

Change the name

  * ubuntu-showcase

Directory in the home directory, with the index page. Add a firefox bookmark, and perhaps
a link on the start page. Perhaps keep the link on the desktop in the live cd.

Get the LoCo's involved.

CC to vote on the content. Perhaps a community vote first to weed out the rubbish.

Probably mandate CC-by-s 3.0. (not "one of CC-BY, CC-BY-SA, PD" or something?)
