Improved GNOME Touchpad configuration panel
We all know how important it is to give the users the ability to tune their touchpads to work the way they want. While the basic settings currently exposed in Ubuntu`s (GNOME`s) touchpad configuration panel are something, they are far from complete.
This issue has been identified before, many years agora. Here`s a brief list of related blueprints I`ve found:
disable-touchpad
gnome-touchpad-
touchpad-config-gui
Since it hasn`t been done, I wish to start working on it ASAP, based on the designs already shown in the other blueprints but taking KDE`s Touchpad configuration utility as my main inspiration, which is pretty much awesome (compared to GNOME`s).
The user definitely shouldn`t need to use hacks like putting scripts in Xsession.d or edition stuff in xorg.conf.d to make their touchpad work as it should and such settings should be exposed out of the box.
Since GNOME`s focused on simplicity, some features might be hidden in an advanced settings tab or window, but they should be available through a GUI nevertheless.
