Presently the main menu,places,system organisation of settings is hard for end users.consider Gimme,its fabulous i know why some intelligent distro's made it by default like suse,mint etc.Agreed with ubuntu's default way of handling menu's
1* hard to edit/delete/add an item to menu
2* too much clutter when more than 15 app's in same category is installed like for eg: sound&video.
so now ubuntu can develop its own gimme or put it by default or customize that gimme to be more suitable for ubuntu.
