Make the system recognize also the OpenOffice.org handled files

Registered by GortiZ on 2008-01-13

Could you make the system recognize also the files handled by OOo as it does with jpeg and other files?
If I have a file without extension, the system automatically opens it with eyes of gnome if it is a jpeg image and so on for other files type, but if it is a file handled by Open Office I have to manually add the right extension as doc, ppt and so on...
The "file" utility in the shell recognize this files types as "application/msword" and I can't understand why gnome doesn't.
I know that this is a gnome problem but maybe you can ask and cooperate with gnome team to fix this.
Thanks for your attention

P.s. Sorry if my english is not perfect.
